Let it Marinate, cos Kartell’Em is Cooking.

A wise man named Yorko once said: “TELL EM MATIC ALAM MO NA YAN!”

And thou shalt be reminded that Kartell’Em Is Back!! And hard-hitting tracks are really coming our way with the upcoming album that they are cooking. Plus, they were never gone tho.

So last August 18, our homies from Kartell’Em invited us to their exclusive Music Video showing for their latest track “DAMN!”; the event was held at the MonobyPhono in Pililia, Makati. As for us who’re familiar with how the fire started, the event gave off a vibe similar to the old-days gigs way back in 2017 to 2018.

"Astig din kapag nakakagawa tayo ng mga intimate na events like that, na core fans, people who helped [us]. alam mong mag-e-enjoy, mga makikisama." as Ne7in noted.

The event was attended by the people they considered day-ones: those who were there when they started the group, the ones who are actively supporting them to this day, those who have been supporting their merch drops, consistently present at gigs and events, and the one who hailed them.

Every member of the group has their own lane right now; some are business owners, some run behind-the-scenes, some have jobs to do, some are fathers, some are sons, and some are forging their own materials in their own artistry and crafts. That’s why they decided to make this project as exclusive and different, minimal yet with deeper impact.

"Gumawa muna kami ng chill [event] lang just to promote the music video… and to let everybody know that we are back." As Waiian highlighted.

Work in Progress

It’s kind of mind-tingling sometimes, because they’ve been edging us with bangers after bangers, dropping singles through various months of this year, from KITBA (Kartell’Em In This B*tch Again), Get Up, The Helly What, SKUH, and now the DAMN.

But rather than guessing what’s more to expect, we just decided to ask them about their process of creating this, the growth in the writing and lyricism, and what’s in progress:

"Yung proseso sa pag-gawa ng album, sobrang natural lang: straight music, walang gimik. Yun lang yung agenda, Kartell'Em." as IDSG (I Don't Sh*t Gold) pointed out.
"For me, ito [album] na yung pinaka kami; especially ngayon sa edad namin na ang dami na naming dinaanan… The last album was 4 years ago. So more mature yung atake, more mas makatotohanan, more na mas maganda yung words para mas maintindihan ng mga tao. In-enjoy namin yung process. This year ilalabas natin yan, promise!" as Ne7in assured where this thing will lead.
"Makikita nyo lang na parang Kartell'Em pa rin 'to...but at the same time, times have changed; at marami na kaming bagong modafaking experiences, at ini-intigrate lang namin yun sa music namin in a way that only we can do," as Waiian made it clear.

And just like the old sayings: “Let things marinate!”, “Good things take time.” or “Let ‘Em Cook!”
